ABOUT ME

Surviving in an unfamiliar language and culture while having to deal with practical aspects of living in the new host country can be a daunting task.  Having lived in Germany, Spain, Bolivia, the UK and now Switzerland, I know first hand how difficult a start in a new country can be!

My school consultancy and orientation services offer both practical information to those who have just recently relocated to Switzerland and assistance to Expat parents in making informed choices about the schooling options for their children.

With a background as a professional translator and interpreter, I have been involved in language and orientation services for Expats for over 20 years. Along the way, I have gained a qualification as school teacher and worked in public and private schools in Switzerland and the UK. My many years of employment in public and private schools have given me valuable insights into the Swiss education sector.

With my focus initially on newcomer orientation courses, I quickly realized that schooling is a crucial topic for Expat parents. This resonated with my own experiences as an Expat mother to school-aged children. While living abroad, I often found it hard to make sense of extremely different schools systems and struggled to get meaningful information about available schooling options for Expats.

Expats in Switzerland often face the same problem when looking for information on educational options in Switzerland. This lack of accessible information is what inspired me to provide school information services in addition to my orientation and language courses.

I have now been advising parents on schooling options in Switzerland for more than 5 years.
It gives me immense pleasure to help many parents to navigate their new host country and to gain a better understanding of the Swiss school system.
